How does Ovulation glow~ Work?
Ovulation
glow~ Canine ovulation testing pads works by detecting different hormones
effects in the vaginal fluid of the Bitch during the different stages of her
sexual cycle. The follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) acts on granulosa cells in
the wall of the ovarian follicle inducing steroidogenesis, including estrogen.
A surge of luteinizing hormone (LH) is precipitated by a fall in estrogen:
progesterone ratio is responsible for ovulation. The primary oocytes (eggs) are
ovulated and cannot be fertilized for a further 2-3 days. Ovulated oocytes may
be fertilized for 2 to 5 days; however, there may be breed
differences.
Is Ovulation glow~ glucose testing
pads?
No, Ovulation glow~ Canine
testing pads are NOT glucose testing pads. Ovulation glow~ do not read or test
the same way as glucose ovulation testing pads! Unfortunately, using glucose to
detect ovulation has been found to be in reliable at consistently detecting
ovulation by scientific studies.
How to use Ovulation glow~ canine
ovulation testing pads?
1.      
Wipe the vulva area clean and wipe away any excess blood.
2.      
Gently open the vulva and place the pad about ½” inch inside. Place the pad
sideways so  that the pads surface is touching the vulva wall.
3.      
Hold the ovulation stick for about 20-30 seconds inside the vulva.
4.      
Remove the ovulation stick and please note whether it has been completely
moistened by the vaginal fluid.
5.      
Wait an additional 30 seconds to read the test results and compare the results
on the images that are included in the data sheet. Any color change in the pad
that is older than 3 minutes will be inaccurate! Read right way.
Important~ be aware that Canine ovulation testing pads will
completely change color when the bitch’s estrogen has decrease and the bitch
has an increase of progesterone levels. The day of ovulation the ovulation pad
will turn (yellow – muddy yellow). When you get a positive test result that
indicates ovulation then your bitch is ready to breed. An example of the
recommended testing process would be:
1.     
Start to test the bitch from the beginning of her season.
2.     
The Canine ovulation pad will start to change color to (shades of green –
lighter green) when your bitch’s estrogen is increasing. The closer the bitch
gets to ovulation the lighter green the pad will get. Then you know that the
bitch is ovulating in 2-7 days.
3.     
The Canine ovulation pad will change color to (Yellow – muddy yellow) when your
bitch’s estrogen has decrease and the bitch has an increase of progesterone
levels. Then you know that the bitch is ovulating and ready to breed.
4.     
When the Canine ovulation pad is at the
maximal lightest shade
of
(yellow – muddy yellow)
the day before THEN changes
to (ANY
shade of green again). You know the day before was ovulation!
5.      In
the bitch, the oocytes (eggs) are ovulated BUT fertilization cannot occur until
2- 3 days after ovulation. The optimum opportunity for fertilizable oocytes
(eggs) is from 2 days to 5 days after ovulation.
6.     
Start breeding your bitch when the ovulation testing pad shows the maximal
lightest shade of (yellow- muddy yellow). It’s better to be on the safe side
and breed a day early then to late!
To ensure that your ovulation testing pads test correctly it is
important, that the pads not be exposed to moisture or sunlight. Please also be
aware that it is important that you do not touch or put your fingers on the
pad. The ovulation testing pads has a limited validity. Proper storage extends
this. Once opened the ovulation pads are good for approximately 1 year. This is
not guaranteed.
