DC Power Extension Cables
Useful item for when your gadget’s power adapter cable is too short to reach the desired installation location.
– Select from 1 to 10 meters length
– 22 AWG. 3m cable is 24 AWG
– One male end, one female end
– Max power: 12V 3A, 36W
– Connector: Barrel plug size 5.5mm x 2.1-2.5mm (outer x inner diameter).
This is the most commonly used size for security systems, DVRs, cameras, LED light strips and many other household items.
To check your existing cable’s connector size: If you only have access to a ruler, use the cm side. If your cable’s male end looks to be very close to 1/2 cm in diameter or just a tiny bit bigger, this is likely the right cable for you.
No ruler? Stack 3 US quarters (25-cent coins) and compare their height to the male end of your existing cable. Your connector’s diameter should look to be almost the same as the stack’s height or just a tiny bit smaller.
